Hello, I am Zane (they/them) and I am a Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering therapy to adolescents (12+) and adults. I work with clients seeking support with a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety and interpersonal challenges.

I am particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+ clients. As a neurodivergent, non-binary and queer therapist, I draw on my lived experience, and the understanding and empathy that comes with it. I combine this with specialised knowledge, skills and training, especially in neurodiversity-affirming practice, supporting clients with AuDHD-specific challenges, gender identity exploration and relieving gender dysphoria.

My other areas of speciality include:

  • Chronic illness and chronic pain
  • Shame, self-criticism and self-worth
  • Cultivating self-compassion
  • Life transitions and identity changes
  • Unconventional lifestyles, including non-monogamy and sex-positivity

I believe that counselling works best when it is collaborative and consent-focused, so my approach is all about what you find most helpful and what you want to work on. Therapy can be more structured, short-term counselling focusing on specific issues, or longer-term psychotherapy if you’re seeking deep exploration and significant life changes. I strive to meet you where you are and tailor the therapy process to you. To do this, I draw on and integrate a variety of modalities and principles with the aim of meeting your unique needs and goals. Some of these are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Self-Compassion, expressive arts therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, somatic principles, polyvagal theory and existentialism.
